Levi's Horsey Sound

Levi has essentially modified his ear piercing screeching noise into a high pitched horsey neigh. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do. He calls the horsey the Tee-Tee.

Rockies Faith Night

We made our way to the Rockies versus the Padres for Faith Night. It was a blast, except for the Rockies gave up 7 runs in the first inning. Let's just say Livan Hernandez got lit up like a Beijing Opening Ceremony.....wow, I have haven't seen that many bombs in a while. In fact, before the game started I asked Ethan how many home runs we would see. He answered "10". We saw 5 - 4 by the Padres and only 1 by the Rockies but we still had a fun time. After the game Dave Dravecky gave his testimony about losing his pitching arm and how God met him in his dark place, and then we got to see Steven Curtis Chapman in concert. He had a similar story since he recently lost a young daughter. It was a great time!

Great Sand Dunes National Park

As you can see from the pictures the Dunes were BEAUTIFUL. I don't think I've ever seen a place where the unordinary comes to life. We were in a Sahara style sand dune that spanned 30 square miles that ran along side a stream, and was backdropped with about 9 14,ooo foot peaks. A dramatic landscape to be sure. God was showing off a little here in Southern Colorado.

I'm also not quite sure how to get the underlining to stop! Sorry. Hope you enjoy the Dunage....I know Levi and Ethan did. It was a never ending sand box and sand and water table at their fingertips and they took full advantage!

The Most Scenic Train We Have Ever Seen!

If a picture is worth a thousand words these don't even come close! We rode the Cumbres Toltec "Cinder Bear" express from Chama, New Mexico to the Cumbres Pass in Colorado at over 10,000 feet. The scenery was majestic and breath taking, and the day was gorgeous for a train ride. We all had a great time on the "Cinder Bear" express. The train stopped at Cumbres Pass and they provided us with a sack lunch and sodas. We also got to go on a nature hike while there. That is the picture we took next to the lake.

Levi loved the Cinder Bear but was also scared to death of him. Luckily they gave all the kids coloring books and posters of Cinder Bear. Levi continuously opens his poster and says "Bear Bear" But when "Cinder Bear" would come close he would wrap his talons around mommy like a sloth in great peril - oh and cry at a piercing decibel level that almost shattered the train windows. Luckily they were all down. We hope you enjoy this blog - Ethan and Levi were my special helpers making it.

SWIM LESSONS

Hi there Everyone! I am back from underground! Mostly in the basement, the garage or assorted other library and quiet locations that I have been studying at for the bar exam. Since it is over, and I now have time, I will try to do a few posts to update you on the goings on in the Thompson familia.

First and foremost, the littlest porpoise made quite a splash in his two week rotation through Level 1 of Swim Lessons at the Base. He tore it up. He reminds me of a young Thorpedo. You will probably also see visions of Greg Louganis (minus when he cracked his head open on the high dive) with the video of his dive into the water to his teacher. He starts Level 2 next week and the waters may never be the same....and they may be a tad warmer! Here's to our tadpole!
